Honeymoon - Lake Tahoe Nevada

For your honeymoon, you could choose to travel thousands of miles around the globe, seeing incredible sites that are filled with rich history. This option is excellent but also very expensive. Another outstanding option is to choose a destination right here in the United States. Even though you will not pay as much money, the quality of the honeymoon will be no different.

One such destination is Lake Tahoe, Nevada. This particular destination is beautiful, no matter what season. The mountain peaks are capped with snow, the lake crystal and blue, and the overall scenery breathtakingly beautiful, just as Mark Twain had described it. In addition to the magnificent backdrop, Lake Tahoe, Nevada always has exciting things to do and see.

In the summertime, you will be able to enjoy a number of different water sports such as skiing, sailing, or simply renting a pontoon or houseboat for the weekend. Additionally, the summer is an excellent time for exciting festivals and a number of great activities in the mountains to include hiking, downhill skiing, camping, and more. This honeymoon location offers 191 square miles of pure adventure right on the California/Nevada border. For this reason, honeymooners have chosen this destination for years! Other fantastic things to do in Lake Tahoe, Nevada include:

Theater This part of the country is rich in fine arts and theater where you can enjoy a large array of performances. For example, the Sand Harbor State Park is known for presenting Shakespearean plays. Additionally, you can choose a natural, sand amphitheater called Bard Lakeside.

Festivals Again, Lake Tahoe offers wonderful festivals, many of which are held under the stars. The atmosphere created is romantic and calming.

Canoeing or Kayaking Emerald Bay, which is a beautiful outlet off the main Lake Tahoe, is an excellent place to canoe or kayak. You will also find Fannette Island here, which is the only island on the entire lake. The scenery is incredible in that you can paddle your way beside rocky cliffs while being accompanied by eagles and osprey. If you prefer to spend some time on the bank fishing, you will enjoy delicious salmon and trout.

Mountain Biking and Hiking These two sports are favorites of honeymooners and vacationers. The Tahoe Run Trail runs 150 miles through the mountains, which then encircles the lake. The average elevation at this location is 8,000 feet and will take you about four to file miles for an eight-mile course, depending on how fast you go and how many times you stop to take in the beauty of your surroundings.
