Honeymoon - New Zealand

Many couples getting married choose exotic locations for the honeymoon. Typically, these destinations include places visited by most honeymooners such as Hawaii, the Bahamas, or the Caribbean. However, if you want a truly romantic destination, one that offers majestic mountains capped with snow, white beaches, thick forests, steamy thermal pools, and dynamic rivers, would you go? You might be asking, Does such a place even exist? The answer is that it does and the destination is New Zealand.

If you love adventure but nothing overly rugged, New Zealand would make the perfect choice for your honeymoon. Although there are more than 3.5 million people, they are spread out over two islands, which are then surrounded by smaller islands just as beautiful. The one thing that most people notice immediately is the abundance of nature in New Zealand and the diversity of the land.

Take Auckland for example. This beautiful city is famous for the Auckland City Art Gallery where massive collections by local artists are on display. Here, you will also find numerous artifacts, carvings, and art pieces created by native Maori. In addition to Auckland, you would also enjoy visiting Wellington where beautiful theaters are located along with quaint boutiques, art and statue galleries, and find dining.

For something a little more adventurous, you definitely want to try bungee jumping since after all, this is where it was born. Other exciting activities include rafting through limestone caverns found on the Central North Island and Waitomo, or if you prefer, you can choose more intense rivers for whitewater rafting.

If you are not faint at heart then you could try bridge swinging. With this popular sport, you would be harnessed into a cable and then swung from a bridge down deep in the valley below but for the thrill of a lifetime, try tramping. In this situation, a trained guide will take you on a three to four-day trip into un-chartered nature. While the trip is rugged, the benefits are that you will discover new pristine beaches, glaciers, and bays!

After a day or two of serious excitement, you can relax and enjoy some of the most amazing food. In New Zealand, you will find many sushi dishes, lamb, Toheroa, which are clams, and mouth-watering desserts such as ginger crunch cake, a local favorite, and homemade ice cream. Now, when you dine in New Zealand, do not be surprised if your meat and vegetables come to your table overcooked, which is the normal way in which food is prepared but it is delicious just the same.

The thing that most couples love about New Zealand is that it offers seclusion. You can take a sunset stroll down the beach, ski on the Southern Alps, or simply retreat to your accommodations. Then when you are ready to get out, you can take in a number of comedy clubs or nightclubs..
